Invitation to be a Mitzvah Corps Volunteer
Greeters for Services will be asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to services to greet everyone entering the sanctuary. Guests will be given a special packet with information about Temple Israel along with a special gift. With anticipated numbers volunteering, you will only be needed twice or three times a year. Please indicate if you have a preference for daytime or nighttime services.
Provide transportation to people who otherwise are unable to attend services and other Temple functions. From time to time the office receives calls from members in your area in need of a ride.
Building maintenance which is necessary to keep our building clean, comfortable, safe, and inviting, like changing light bulbs and setting up tables.
Grounds maintenance required to care for plants and flowers and keep the property looking beautiful.
Welcoming new members: You can make new members feel special by calling them, possibly inviting them to have a Shabbat dinner and attend services with you, introducing them to others, inviting them to Sisterhood or other meetings, and presenting them with a New Members Kit from the Temple.
Be part of our Sunshine Committee: Members of our Sunshine Committee visit patients in the hospital or those homebound, call to check up on those in need of assistance, and send cards. What a wonderful mitzvah!
Please volunteer for these or other mitzvahs you may think of. Just send a message today to Mitzvah Corps and indicate which mitzvah you will do.
Thanks to so many of you who have already volunteered.
